    About

    The Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs is New York City’s premier public graduate school dedicated to public affairs and administration, drawing upon one of the nation’s most accomplished and active faculty bodies, and applying an interdisciplinary approach to teaching, research, and professional development. Marxe’s mission is to educate and empower leaders, advance knowledge about societies and policies, and engage diverse communities across New York City and the world to develop inclusive, adaptable, and effective institutions.

    Since 1994, the School has offered the undergraduate BSPA degree, a graduate-level MPA degree in public policy and administration, and an MSEd in Higher Education Administration (MSEd-HEA). In Fall 2017 the Master of International Affairs (MIA) degree program was launched. An Online Master of Public Administration (OMPA) was launched in the Fall of 2024. The Master of Science in City Planning (MSCP) launched in the Fall of 2025, and the Online Executive Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration (EdD) launches Fall of 2026. There are also two certificates to choose from: the Certificate in Public Communication, and the Certificate in Quantitative Methods for Policy and Equity Analysis.

    Marxe Dean's Advisory Board

    The Marxe Dean’s Advisory Board serves as the critical connection between students, public policy education, and research. As a globally and professionally diverse team, members are engaged in a broad range of policy and administrative programs, representing the full range of the Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs’ academic programs.

    Beyond impressive credentials, and breadth and depth of real-world experience, the Board acts as “ambassadors” of the School’s mission by providing insight on key emerging issues and trends in the public sector.
