Pi Alpha Alpha (PAA) is the Global Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration and invites eligible graduate and undergraduate students in public affairs to apply each spring semester. All memberships are national with a local chapter affiliation. PAA is run by NASPAA and recognizes outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in public administration, public policy, and public affairs. Membership is open to both graduate and undergraduate students who meet the criteria for eligibility.

Eligible students will be contacted by the Marxe Advisement Team and invited to apply.

Graduate students enrolled in the Master of Public Administration, Master of International Affairs, or Master of Science in Higher Education Administration program must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.7 or higher at the time of application and must have completed half of their program credits. The GPA will not be rounded up to 3.70–it must be at least a 3.70 to be eligible.

Undergraduate students must be official Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs (BSPA) majors, upper-level juniors, or seniors, have a GPA of at least 3.5 in at least 5 upper-level PAF courses (3000+), and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 at the time of application.

For graduating students, pending final semester grades will not be considered for membership. Invitations are sent out every April and October to those who qualify. There is an induction ceremony each spring semester.
