Students selected to participate in the exchange or short-term programs may be eligible for Marxe Study Away Award to help offset their study abroad expenses.

The C.V. Starr International Experiential Learning Fellowship provides financial support to Baruch students to help them fulfill their international experiential learning goals. Open to undergraduate or graduate students of any major who are returning to Baruch in the following semester. Students must secure their own internship/volunteership/work abroad experience.
Application packet may be obtained at the Weissman Center for International Business, 137 East 25th Street, 8th Floor (Annex Building).

The Weissman Center for International Business offers Baruch College-sponsored internship programs to Baruch students. Please see below two existing programs open to Marxe students:
Xiamen Internship Program: The Weissman Center for International Business and Xiamen University have partnered to offer a summer internship opportunity in Xiamen, China for qualified Baruch College students. The Xiamen Internship Program is an exciting opportunity for a Baruch College student seeking valuable professional experience within an international work experience, all in an English-speaking work environment. The internship will last for 6 weeks, and students will be engaged in related research and professional practice and submit an internship report at the end of the program.
New Delhi Internship Program: The Weissman Center for International Business and the Butterflies organization, (an NGO headquartered in New Delhi, India) have partnered to offer a summer internship opportunity in New Delhi in business and finance for qualified Baruch College students. The internship calls for service-minded and internationally oriented Baruch students to work with Butterflies to develop a business and marketing plan to make the programs self-sustaining and profitable.

The CIEE Summer Global Internship programs combine a full-time internship with an integrated academic seminar to provide professional exploration and specific skills development. CIEE has an onsite team that provides one-on-one assistance, and will reach out to companies that are a good fit to coordinate the interview and matching process.
At CISabroad, advisors provide guidance throughout the application process, starting with choosing a program to securing an internship to applying for your passport and necessary visas. On-site assistance is also provided upon arrival to the destination of the program.
As a provider of international internships, CRCC Asia works with over 600 companies in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Tokyo, Ho Chi Minh City and Manchester to provide students and graduates the opportunity to further their personal and professional development in a dynamic, international setting. All of their Programs allow participants to gain insight into global business culture, meet industry leaders and build business networks.
The Education Abroad Network (TEAN) is a full-service international education provider specializing in immersive study and internship programs throughout Asia Pacific in countries like Japan, China, Thailand, New Zealand, etc. They offer internship programs during the semester or summer that range from 8 to 14 weeks.
In the spirit of reciprocity and international understanding, the FACC training program for Americans in France brings together qualified young Americans aspiring to work in France, and companies interested in hosting them for up to 18 months.
From start to finish, the Global Experiences internship program includes a variety of components for participants from housing to career development to on-site events, with possible placements in cities in Europe and Australia. When you are applying for internships abroad you will follow a step by step process with their team that will provide you with enough information to help you make an informed decision about an internship abroad with Global Experiences.
Founded in 1950, IES Abroad is a not-for-profit provider with 140+ study abroad and internship programs around the world for college/university students. IES Abroad is comprised of study abroad programming, Customized & Faculty-Led Programs, IES Internships, and the Study Abroad Foundation (SAF).
The Intern Group offers a program is a short-term (their average program length is just over eight weeks), international, educational experience for those who wish to travel outside of their comfort zone, both literally and metaphorically. It is for those who wish to gain that crucial experience in their chosen industry while simultaneously learning about the way of life and culture of a different country.

Projects Abroad is one of the largest volunteer abroad organizations in the world. Volunteer or intern abroad in Africa, Asia, Europe, or Latin America. They offer overseas voluntary work placements including teaching, care, conservation & environment, medicine & healthcare, journalism, law & human rights, international development, business, and more.
OpenTowers.com is a specialized job board exclusively serving international students and alumni of U.S. universities and colleges in their search for internships, optional practical training (OPT), and full-time jobs in the U.S. and abroad. It’s an online job-search platform designed by former international students with decades of experience in academia and industry for current international students and recent graduates of U.S. universities and colleges.
World Endeavors offers four meaningful ways for participants to go abroad: interning, studying, volunteering, and customized group programs. Each offers a different type of immersive experience in the host country and suits the needs of a different kind of traveler.

Here are some frequently asked questions about studying abroad with the Marxe School:
Fall/Spring – Semester Exchange to Ghent University
Summer – Varies, please refer to our Summer Programs page for current programs available
Winter – Varies, please refer to our Winter Programs page for current programs available
Semester Exchange Program – Participating students pay Baruch tuition as well as any necessary expenses for housing, airfare, visa, transportation, books, and etc.
Summer Programs – Varies, refer to the Summer Programs page for details on program fee and tuition
Winter Programs – Varies, refer to the Winter Programs page for details on program fee and tuition
Students will receive credit for the semester exchange programs. For the short term summer/winter programs, it depends on the program and will be indicated under the program description.
For semester exchange and credit-bearing winter/summer programs, please apply through the Baruch Study Abroad Office.
For non-credit bearing/certificate programs, please email MSPIAGlobalInitiatives@baruch.cuny.edu for details on the application process and the application.
Semester Exchange and credit-bearing winter/summer programs – Baruch Study Abroad Office sets the deadline for Summer and Fall Programs as March 15th and for Winter and Spring Programs as October 1st.
Non-credit bearing/certificate programs – Varies, the deadline to apply depends on the program
At the time of application, you must have completed at least 9 credits (in PAF) and have at least a 3.4 cumulative GPA. You must also be a matriculated student and plan to enroll in a minimum of 3 credits in the semester following the study abroad program. You will also need to submit proof of application to a study abroad program.

You will also need to complete and submit a budget worksheet that estimates the total cost of the program. You can download the worksheet here (PDF)
In the past, we have offered up to $5,000 for Semester Exchange programs, and up to $3,000 for Summer and Winter short term programs. The financial support is to be used toward program costs and living expenses while abroad. For short term programs, the award amounts will vary depending on the length of the program and program participation cost.
Short-Term Programs
The award will be given in two installments:
First installment – At the beginning of the program, students will receive a check for half of the award amount upon submitting the following:
- Submit proof of acceptance into the study abroad program indicated in the application
- Have a minimum 3.4 cumulative GPA at the end of the semester prior to the program
- Be a matriculated student and be enrolled in minimum 3 PAF credits for the semester following the program
Second installment – The second half of the award will be given upon submitting a proof of completion of the program:
- For non-credit bearing: Certificate of completion
- For credit-bearing: Copy of unofficial Baruch transcript with a grade B or higher
Long-Term Programs (Exchange)
The award will be given in two installments:
First installment – At the beginning of the program, students will receive a check for half of the award amount upon submitting the following:
- Submit proof of acceptance into the study abroad program indicated in the application
- Have a minimum 3.4 cumulative GPA at the end of the semester prior to the program
- Be a matriculated student at Marxe
Second installment – The second half of the award will be given once students register for classes at host institution and submit certification of courses.
